Each year at South Haven Christian School we have a theme and a Bible verse to help encourage our students and faculty. The 2011-12 theme verse is II Corinthians 5:14: "For the love of Chirst constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead." As we think about this verse, the phrase "For the love of Christ constraineth us:..." stands out. The word constraineth means to compel; to force; to necessitate; to oblige. Because we love Christ, it ought to constrain us to first of all see that our students know Christ as their personal Savior, next to see them grow in Christ, and also to see them strive to do their best in school! If our walk with Christ is thriving, then the love of Christ will constrain us even when the day gets long.
