We had a wonderful Missions Conference this year. This years missionaries included the Morrisey's, the Gross Family, The Groves family and Dr. Earl Jessup. The week began with a wonderful service with Mike Morrisey presenting his burden for India and Bro. Groves presenting his burden for Moldova. Our own missionary veteran Bro. Frank Davis brought a wonderful challenge Sunday morning during the 8:15 service. On Monday night over 300 men and boys gathered for a special fellowship and Dr. Jessup spoke about being dilligent to "roast what we have taken in hunting" from Proverbs 12:27. On Tuesday night our church met in four houses for prayer meetings with a missionary at each meeting. Wednesday and Thursday were special missions services with Dr. Jessup challenging our faith to increase in these tough economic times. Friday morning was the schools "time to shine"! Each year the missionaries are surprised with a huge missions parade where each class finds creative ways to give the money to their adopted missionaries that they have been earning all year. This year they raised over $16,000 collectively as a school! On Friday night a beautiful and delicious banquet was prepared and the teens did a great job serving tables. Dr. Jessup challenged us again with the Word of God and Faith Promise giving. Sunday was the conclusion and all the services were well attended again. Anticipation was high Sunday night as we awaited the final talley for the Faith Promise commitments. Praise the Lord! over $400,000 was committed and we were able to take all of this years' missonaries on for support. Pray for these missionaries to quickly get to the field of their calling!
